In loving memory of

Paul Everett Weiland
September 17, 1927 - August 18, 2019

Paul Everett Weiland, 91, of Dumont, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, under the care of MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.

He was born September 17, 1927, to Ralph and Grace (Menken) Weiland on the family farm in rural Butler County. Paul graduated from Bristow High School. He was united in marriage to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Betty Arlene Hahn, on June 18, 1946, in Bristow. They were blessed with two children, Jerry and Jerilyn, and resided on the family farm at Weiland's Corner four miles north of Bristow. Paul farmed for the majority of his life until he and Betty retired and moved to Dumont. He was a former member of Farm Bureau and a member of Dumont Reformed Church.

Paul enjoyed farming and talking about tractors; especially Allis Chalmers. He also enjoyed going to Mabel's Diner in Dumont and Pizza Ranch in Waverly. Paul loved being with his wife, Betty, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Those who loved him will truly miss his "silent laugh".

Paul is survived by his son Jerry (Virginia) Weiland of Hiawatha; daughter Jerilyn Miller of Forest City; grandchildren Connie (Darwin) Piehl of Cedar falls, Cher (Aaron) Neilsen of Alexander and Shannon Miller of Belmond; great-grandchildren Eric and Meagan Gogola, Megan Clark, Mya and Macy Piehl, Kendra (Quentin) Boelman, Zachary, Chance and Christian Neilsen, Cally and Skylar Miller; great-great grandchildren Ian Boelman and one on the way; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Weiland, brothers Johnny and Walter Weiland, grandson Mark Weiland and son-in-law Virgil Miller.

Memorials may be directed to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice or Dumont Reformed Church. Cards may be sent to Paul's family at P.O. Box 403, Hampton, Iowa 50441.
