Marlys Yvonne Miller
July 4, 1935 - August 22, 2019

Marlys Yvonne Miller, 84, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was born on July 4, 1935, in Floyd County, Iowa, to Donald and Thelma (Fisher) Allan.

Marlys attended country school and graduated from Allison High School. She was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. Marlys was united in marriage to Cornelius V. Miller on June 27, 1954, in Allison. They became members of the Trinity Reformed Church.

Marlys was a Butler County deputy recorder for twenty-seven years. She enjoyed camping, biking, flower gardening, and delivering motor homes with Cornelius. Marlys and Cornelius spent every summer on their farm in Greene, having many family outings.

Marlys is survived by her son Kim and wife JoAnn Miller of Allison, daughter Patti and husband Chris Conrad of Cedar Falls, son Donn and wife Susan Miller of Allison, grandchildren Kristi and husband Travis Gansen, Becky and husband Jamie Kibbee, Amber and husband Chris Stephens, Dana Conrad and Claire and husband Caleb Vander Wiel, great-grandchildren Kasia Gansen, Noah Gansen, Tayler Kibbee, Kaylin Kibbee, Izzabella Stephens, Uma Gansen and Kane Kibbee, brother Harold (Judy) Allan of Manning, South Carolina, and sister Shirley Derr of Maynard.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Thelma, husband Cornelius, and sister Janis Miller.


Memorials may be directed to Trinity Reformed Church in memory of Marlys.
