In loving memory of

Garry E. Rainey
February 11, 1954 - August 21, 2019

Garry Edward Rainey passed away in his home in Exton, PA on August 21, 2019, following a long battle with COPD and congestive heart failure. He was 65.

Garry was born on February 11, 1954, in Ambler, PA to the late James and Kathryn Rainey. He grew up in Canton, CT and graduated from Canton High School in 1972. Garry lived in Boston for several years, where he attended Graham Junior College, before moving across the country and settling in Roscoe, IL, where he sold consumer tools and lawn equipment.

Garry loved woodworking and he enjoyed working on special projects for those who were close to him. He was fiercely proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed learning about his ancestry and culture. Garry also loved the music of the 1960s and 1970s -- especially the Beatles -- and was known to light up a room with his humor and his sometimes accurate impersonations.

He is survived by his son, Ryan (Laura) and his daughter, Rylie. He is also survived by his siblings Jimmy, Greg, Andy, Tommy, Mary, Kelly, and Katie.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, August 31, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 259 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA 2019. His Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

Remembrances in his name may be made to Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, 1400 I Street NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20005 or at www.TobaccoFreeKids.org

"Ryan & Rylie, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I worked with him at Briggs & Stratton. He was on the rode a lot with his sales so we did not see him often. But when he was in the office he always made us laugh. He had quite the sense of humor. He talked about how proud he was of the two of you. He loved his kids. Cherish the great memories you shared. My sympathy, Nancy B"
