Daniel Otto Johnson
January 29, 1922 - February 9, 2012
Mr. Daniel O. Johnson, age 90, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012. He was born in Duluth, MN on January 29, 1922 to Otto & Irene (Henriksson) Johnson and served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as a Tech Sergeant, 86th Troop Carrier Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group and saw most major battles. Daniel graduated from Minnesota University with a BA degree in Mechanical Engineering and married the former Ilene Berg. After Ilene's passing, he met and married Anamae (Boonstra) Anderson. Mr. Johnson had been an Engineer at Blandin Paper Company in Minnesota for years until retiring. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS
Wife, Anamae; children, Barbara (Dr. Joseph) Broderson of KY, Brian (Cheryl) Johnson of NC, Greg Johnson of MN, Jill (Kurt) Swanson of MN; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 6 stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Ilene.
SERVICE
Saturday, February 25, 2012, 1:00 PM at Lakeside Baptist Church with Rev. Leslie Lew officiating. Interment at Itasca Calvary Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Lakeside Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
