Nova D. (Hughey) Groom

Nova D. (Hughey) Groom, born July 26, 1932, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2008 in Muskegon, Michigan after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William H. Groom; three children: W. Brad (Laura) Groom of Muskegon, MI, Cynthia K. Groom of Spring Lake, MI, and Terrand M. (Sue) Groom of Lowell, MI; and grandchildren Travis, Amanda, Joshua, Morgan and Parker. Nova is also survived by three siblings: Erma J. Hughey of Lake Ann, MI, Lilly Louise (Richard) Moreau of Torch Lake, MI, and Duane (Connie) Hughey of Ravenswood, WV. Nova was born in Mancelona, MI and is predeceased by her parents Oscar T. and Dorothy (Sizemore) Hughey, and her sister, Carleen Garlick. Nova worked at Diesel Equipment/GM, Rogers Department Store, Witmark Distributing and at Domoco, the family business. Nova enjoyed traveling, wintering at her home in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida and spending time with her many friends and family. A special service for her friends and family will be held at a later date. Her family wishes to express a deep gratitude to the caring staff at Poppen House. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
