Donald F. Town

Mr. Donald F. Town, Sr., age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Donald was born in Muskegon, MI on November 13, 1938 to Samuel and Mary (Rahn) Town. He attended Carr School, and Muskegon High School, before going into the U.S. Army in January of 1957. He worked for Sanitary Dairy as a milkman, Michigan Plastic Products, as a purchasing agent, and retired from Mill Creek Motor Freight of Holland in 2001. He married the former Betty (Pat) J. Stoops on March 26, 1960 in Muskegon. He attended Fellowship Church throughout his life. Mr. Town enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Lion's Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation. His is survived by his wife, Betty (Pat); one son, Donald F. (and wife Sherri) Town, Jr., of Ganger, IN, one daughter, Pamela J. Town of Muskegon, as well as two foreign exchange students, Gloria Londono of Bogata, Columbia and Eva Damm (and husband James) Blackmon of Ozark, Alabama. Eva was formerly of Frankfurt, Germany. Donald is also survived by grandson, Nathan (and wife, Melissa) Town of Niles, MI, grandson Jacob Town and granddaughter, Deborah Town both of Granger, IN. Don is also survived by his great grandsons, Micah Samys, Elliot and Levi Town of Niles, MI. He is also survived by his mother, Mary L. Town of Muskegon, 1 brother, George (and wife Pat) Town of Stevensville, MI; 1 nephew, Bradley Town of Commerce, Twp., MI; 2 nieces, Sarah Spencer of Clarkston, MI, May Town of Midland, MI; 5 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews. Don was preceded in death by his father, Samuel M. Town. SERVICES will be held 3:30 PM Friday, November 21, 2008, at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 with the Rev. Jerry R. Worrell officiating. INTERMENT will be held at Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Thursday.
