Mr. Hunt, age 84, died July 31, 2007. Born August 13, 1922 in Montague to Morris and Edith (Rager) Hunt, he had lived in the White Lake area all his life. On October 18, 1947 in Montague, he married the former Evelyn Ernst, had been a logger, and was a founder and partner of Hunt's Hardware Store for 32 years, until retiring in 1974. He was a member of White Lake VFW Post #3256 and had served on the Montague Fire Department for 30 years, acting as Assistant Fire Chief for 20 years. He was also a member of the Trailblazers Saddle Club and a member of the Palomino Parade Riders. Mr. Hunt served in the US Army in Europe during World War II where he survived being a POW. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Bart, Henry, Marion, Walt, and George. FAMILY: His wife, Evie; 2 daughters, Debbie Hunt and Lori "Petie" (Bill) Jenkins; 1 sister, Mary Gleason; extended family, Frank (Mary Ann) Hunt, Jack (Dee) Hunt, Dorothy (Russ) Gunderson, Marlene (Jim) Latham, and Evie (George) Doubles; nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Sunday, August 5, 2007, at 4pm, from Clock Chapel - Whitehall with Mr. James K. Tanis officiating. A salute by both Montague Fire Department and White Lake VFW Post #3256 will be presented at the funeral home. VISITING HOURS: Sunday, 2-4pm, at Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall.
