Mr. Laurence E. "Larry" Zawlocki, age 81, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at a local nursing home. He was born April 22, 1926 in Ironwood, MI to John and Angeline (Novak) Zawlocki and lived in the Muskegon area since the 1940's. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII as a radioman aboard the USS Louisville. On August 13, 1949, he married the former Lois E. TerBeek in Muskegon and she survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he worked over 30 years as a model maker for Shaw-Walker Company. He was an avid amateur radio enthusiast and had been active with the Muskegon Area Amateur Radio Club. He was also an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus at the parish. Along with his wife, Lois, he is also survived by 6 children, Laurence (Mary) Zawlocki of Muskegon, Michael (Pam) Zawlocki of Loganville, GA, Kathleen (Ron) Barrett, Stephen Zawlocki, Thomas (Nancy) Zawlocki, Daniel Zawlocki all of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard (Georgianna) Zawlocki of Southbend, IN; and 1 sister, Dorothy (Roman) Winkler of Muskegon Heights. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, June 15, 2007 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip A. Sliwinski as celebrant. Military Honors will be offered at the church after Mass by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION with Larry's family will take place one hour prior to Mass, 10-11 AM Friday, at St. Thomas.
