Mr. Kenneth Bender, age 72, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 in Marquette, MI. He was born March 18, 1935, to Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bender in Minnesota. Mr. Bender was a 25 year veteran of the military, serving his country proudly with the U.S. Navy, Army Reserve and the Michigan National Guard. He loved to hunt and enjoyed taxidermy work. He also loved helping people with building projects and being a member of the American Legion. In October 2006 he married Margaret Silletti in the Upper Peninsula and she survives him along with 5 children, Kenny Bender of Texas, Pam Shepard of Mount Pleasant, TX, Brenda (Leo) Guerrero and Tina (Cruz) Bender all of Montague and Glen Holstine of Branson, MI; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Fred, Jim, Mark and Roy; 3 sisters, Sandy, Faye and Wanda; special nephew and niece, Susie and John Troyer of Engadine, MI; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Samantha, who passed away October 19, 1983, and his first wife, June. A graveside service will be held 10:00AM Friday at Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be at 9:00AM Friday at the The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 E. Apple Ave.
