Mr. Harvey F. Kieft, age 84, died Monday, October 31, 2005. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 23, 1921 to Gerritt & May McMillan Kieft & married the former Georgia Gant on July 22, 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 7, 1985. Mr. Kieft was an accountant for the US Post Office and was Assistant Post Master in Muskegon when he retired after 30 years. He joined the US Air Force in 1940 and was in active service for 7 years. He then joined the reserves and served for 34 years retiring in 1979 at the rank of Chief Master Sargent. Mr. Kieft was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a temple ordinance worker at the Washington D.C Temple from 1979 - 1980 and then served as Bishop of the Muskegon Ward from 1983 - 1986. He was also a 13 year volunteer at Hackley Hospital, an avid fisherman and received an Associates degree from Muskegon Community College in 1992 at the age of 70.

2 Daughters, Julia John Saling of Whitehall, Carolyn Richard Zawilski of Yorba Linda, CA;1 grandson, Christopher Chacon; 1 great grandson, Colston Chacon; 4 brothers, Arthur Louella Kieft, Ronald Kieft, Raymond Stella Kieft, & Gordon Nancy Kieft, all of Muskegon.
SERVICE
Saturday, November 5, 2005, 3:00 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
VISITATION
Friday, 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
