Mr. Theodore J. Gaul Sr., age 86, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Alpena, MI on July 8, 1916 to Theodore J. & Emily Hazel Johnson Gaul Sr. Mr. Gaul moved to Muskegon in 1922 & graduated from Muskegon High School in 1933. He became an Alumni of Kalamazoo College. On February 1, 1941 he married the former Clara Elaine Wilson, who became a teacher with Muskegon Public Schools. Theodore was employed by Continental Motors Corp. Teledyne CMC in 1942, & was a test engineer until his retirement in 1982. He was also a private pilot.

3 sons, Theodore J. Gaul Jr. of Muskegon, MI, John Gaul of Lansing, MI & Joseph Wilson Gaul of Muskegon, MI; 1 daughter, Elizabeth J. Gaul of Muskegon, MI; 4 grandchildren, Wendy Lynn Gaul of Kalamazoo, MI, John Ashley Gaul of Kentwood, MI, Tara Elaine Robert Lutke & Charles DeWitt Gaul, both of Muskegon, MI; 1 great-grandchild, Elijah Gabriel Lutke of Muskegon, MI; 1 sister, Lucille Timmick; good friend Bernadine O'Reilly of FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Elaine, parents & by a brother, Frank Gaul.
