Mr. Roy Richard Stiller, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2001. He was born on August 26, 1914 in Manistee, MI. He married the former Grace V. Olk on February 14, 1942 in Ludington, MI & she preceded him in death on April 4, 1985. Mr. Stiller worked in the CC camps for the WWII war effort & throughout his lifetime worked at various jobs including Teledyne Continental Motors Corp. He for many years was an independent salesman for Swenson Monument Co. & then Sunburst Memorials until the early 1960's when he introduced Muskegon to the Burger Chef Restaurant franchise where he built his business to include four Burger Chef restaurants in the Muskegon & Grand Haven areas until his retirement 1978. He was formerly a very active member & communicant of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church & was also a former member of the Pulaski Lodge. Mr. Stiller was a beloved father, cherished grandfather & dear great-grandfather to his family whom he loved deeply.
SURVIVORS
Mr. Stiller is survived by his son, Wayne ''Buck'' Stiller of Lakewood Club; 3 daughters, Glory Ann LaFreinere of Ludington, Rhonda Beckley of Muskegon Heights, Karen Taylor & her fiance, Bob Slocum of Muskegon; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a half brother, David Bourgette of Clinton, TN; his half sister, Helen John Petters of Ludington as well as many nieces & nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his wife Grace on April 4, 1985; 3 daughters, Doreen Parm in 1966, Donna Mae Kragor in 1996 & Claudia Lynn in 1997; 2 brothers, Claude & Donald Stiller; his sister, Esther Krause; 1 granddaughter, Margaret ELizabeth; 1 great grandson, Curtis & 1 great-granddaughter, Angela.
SERVICE
Saturday, June 23, 2001, 1:00 PM at the Clock Chapel with Pastor Glen Maiden officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery.
VISITATION
Friends & family will meet two hours prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Muskegon/Oceana County.
