In loving memory of

Stephen James Cammarota
June 3, 1996 - August 25, 2019

Stephen James Cammarota, of Blue Bell, died peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Georgetown University Hospital, in the arms of his beloved family. He was 23 years old.

Born in Doylestown, he is the son of Steve and Liz (nee Molenari) Cammarota.

Stephen was a 2014 graduate of Wissahickon High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Cinema Study from American University in 2018. Stephen recently began his career as a Communications Professional, employed by Laurel Strategies in Washington DC as Assistant Chief of Staff.

Stephen was diagnosed as a young child with the autoimmune disease that ultimately took his life, but he always lived life to its fullest. He has been involved in numerous charitable causes; giving back and raising funds for children's hospitals and children with special needs. Stephen was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity where he furthered his volunteerism in college. He chaired the first EagleTHON at American University, which raises funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Stephen enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, fishing, and trivia nights. He loved to rant and complain! He was empathetic and accepting of everyone in his life and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Stephen is the beloved son of Steve and Liz Cammarota of Blue Bell. He is the devoted brother of Sarah and Samuel. He is the dear grandson of James and Judy (Bearinger) Molenari of Warrington and Ronald and Nancy (Christinzio) Cammarota of Media.

"I feel great sadness having read about Steve?s passing and wanted to share the story of how we meet. I remember my good friend Jonathan Shander invited me over to hangout at the Lambda house for the first time. Shander immediately introduced me to you Steve and we began talking about films in the backyard. I remember how impressed we both were that we had such similar taste in films most people had never seen. After a while everyone else went back inside but we chose to stay outside despite being attacked by mosquitos. We began to talk about life and then about college. You asked me how I was adjusting to college life and I remember saying that I was still adjusting. For the next hour you talked about your own college experience and offered me great advice that I still keep with me to this day. When I left for the night, I remember very vividly that I honestly couldn?t believe that someone I had just meet could make such a positive impact on me. So I wanted to take this time to really thank you Steve. From the moment we meet, I knew you were a really special and genuine person with a big heart. You are a real role model. Your light will continue to guide and inspire us."

"A memory I?ve always remembered about Stephen... as a toddler, he not only had the cutest face, but his antics cracked me up. His dad shared one particular story...his love of climbing a kitchen stool, always got a resounding ?no!? He would then start to climb the stool & shout ?no!? out loud. So adorable ??"
