Marlene M. Wiebensohn, 85, of Gladbrook, IA, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019, at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m., until the time of the services, at the church. Rev. Joseph Hackett will be officiating the services. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tama County Humane Society at 1406 E. 5th St., Tama, IA. The Gladbrook Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements. Marlene was born September 15, 1933, to John and Irma (Harders) Storjohann in Marshalltown, IA. She graduated from Gladbrook High School and attended Marshalltown Community College. Marlene was united in marriage to Peter Wiebensohn in Gladbrook. She was employed with Westbrook Acres for over 30 years as a CNA. Marlene was a member of Peace United Church of Christ where she was involved in Women's Guild. She was an avid animal lover and had several dogs throughout her life.

Marlene will be missed by a son, Kenneth (Angie) Wiebensohn of Gladbrook; five grandchildren: Rene (Garrison Starr) Wiebensohn of Los Angeles, CA, Carrie Thompson of West Des Moines, IA, Ross (Dina) Wiebensohn of Reinbeck, IA, Josh Wiebensohn of Des Moines, Justin Wiebensohn of Thompson, IA; four great grandchildren: Toby, Brynn, River, Story; and a sister, Carol Torkelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and three sons, Roland, Rodney, and Rick.
