Thomas Emmett Wattinger

Thomas Emmett Wattinger, Jr., age 38, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at the Heart Hospital in Austin, Texas, after suffering for years with heart disease. He was born on June 10, 1981, in Austin, Texas, to Tom and Melissa Wattinger. Thomas graduated from Hyde Park Baptist High School in 1999 and went to play baseball for the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. He finished his schooling at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Thomas enjoyed working alongside his father and brother in construction having been a part of W/K Construction. Thomas demonstrated creativity in a variety of ways but shined in graphics and design, and his latest passion was taking old and abused furniture and restoring it to its glory. Thomas was referred to by family and friends as "the life of the party." He especially enjoyed his time with his precious daughter, Blake, who he spent hours building amazing Lego structures. Thomas is survived by his devoted parents Tom and Melissa Wattinger, a loving daughter Blake Wattinger and her mother Skyler Nichols, his brother and best friend, Chris Wattinger and wife Sarah, nephew and niece, Blaine and Kennedy Wattinger, and girlfriend Kathy Young, and grandfather, Everett Buckner, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas, 78745 on Thursday, September 12, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 pm with a Celebration Memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm. Dr. Ken Baldwin, longtime family friend and pastor, will officiate the celebration of Thomas's life. Additionally, the family wishes to extend their deep appreciation and gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at the Heart Hospital of Austin who demonstrated such deft care, love, and support during Thomas's stay.

In lieu of flowers, a trust through Gofundme has been established to assist with future education expenses of his precious daughter, Blake. Your support and love is appreciated.
