Janet J. Halder, 72, of Fort Dodge died Monday, September 9, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Janet is survived by her children, Matt Halder and Amy Halder both of Fort Dodge and sister, Carolyn Mabee of Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vera (Morris) Johnson and infant brother, Dennis Leroy.

Janet Josephine Johnson was born October 17, 1946 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in the Gowrie area and graduated from Prairie Valley High School. She then attended and graduated from Bernel's Beauty College. Janet was united in marriage to Vern Halder in Fort Dodge in 1972. The couple established their home and lived in Fort Dodge for many years. In 1982, the family moved to Fremont, NE for a period of time and returned to Fort Dodge in 1987. Janet and Vern later divorced. Jan was employed at Target for over 30 years.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
