Lucinda I. Heater, 76, of Burlington died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at her home at Burlington Care Center.
Born April 16, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa she was the daughter of Paul E. and Ethel I. (Pforts) Heater. She married James Hammer April 6, 1964, they later divorced. She them married Tom Edmonds in June of 1985, they later divorced.
Lucy was a nurse, medical aide and then a housekeeper for Danville Care Center until her retirement in 1996.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to make jewelry and pillows out of wash rags. She collected frogs and loved working on the farm with her second husband and meals and time spent with family.
Survivors include two daughters Renee (Damion) Piper of Phoenix, Arizona and Glenna Nordstrom of Burlington; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene (Cheryl) Heater of Mt. Pleasant, Ed (Cindy) Heater of New London and Howard (Debbie) Heater of Danville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
The memorial funeral service for Lucy will be 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 13th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Dean Graber will officiate. Inurnment will be held at Long Creek Cemetery on Saturday, September 14th. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial has been established.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
