Doris L. McVay, age 91 of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Accura Healthcare Newton West. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of William Steven and Jesse Faye (Teed) Smith, Doris was born on February 26, 1928, in Colfax. On June 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Cecil W. McVay. Doris was a lifelong resident of Colfax. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, collecting knick knacks, and visiting with family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her two sons, Alan (Malanida) McVay and Brian McVay; two grandchildren, Kristina McVay and John (Jessica) DeGuzman; and two brothers, Pete (Jan) Smith and Paul (Charlotte) Smith. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Cecil; a son, Mike McVay; a sister, Arlene Taylor and two brothers, William Andrew Smith and Harold Arthur Smith.
