Robert "Bob" Wolvers
June 1, 1956 - September 19, 2019

Robert "Bob" Wolvers, 63, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City, with family at his side after a short bout of cancer.

Robert Norman Wolvers was born June 1, 1956, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, son of Lyle and Alice (Oloughlin) Wolvers. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Catholic Church in Geneva. In May of 1974, Bob graduated from Ackley-Geneva High. He was united in marriage to Mary Alverson on September 15, 1984, in Eldora.

Bob worked at Birdsell's Super Value as meat manager and assistant store manager. Later, he was employed at Schwan's and then as a part time police officer in Hampton before working 23 years at Decker Truck Line as an owner and operator. Bob was also an auctioneer for 25 years.

Bob was always telling jokes, lending out a helping hand to anyone he could and did benefit auctions for those who asked. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Alice Wolvers, and various aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Mary Wolvers of Hampton; daughter Crystal (Zach Boelkes) Wolvers of Rockwell; grandsons Joel Alan Boelkes and Jaxon Hugh Boelkes of Rockwell; brother Steve (Donna) Wolvers of Runnells; cousin Mike (Denise) Roegner of Plymouth; father-in-law and mother-in-law Orville and Mary Helen Alverson of Mason City; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be directed to Bob's family.

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. No other services will be held.
