Austin was born August 27, 1992 in Fort Dodge to Matthew and Cindy Brown. He was our loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. We are aware Austin was many things to many people. If you didn't get to experience the Austin we love, there are a few things we would like you to know...
If you don't know our Austin, you don't know that he absolutely loved to hunt and fish. He would tell you some of his best memories were in a duck boat with his dad or winning the biggest walleye at MAGWEED 2007 on his favorite bait, a jig and minnow. You wouldn't know that he was an amazing musician that played some pretty sweet guitar, even teaching his niece a few chords. You don't know that he was wicked smart, pursuing English as a college major and reading more books than we could count. You also don't know that he was capable of so many things and loved bigger than anyone else we have met.
His infectious smile and amazing laugh could light up a room. We have been told over and over how respectful, kind, and polite he was. Austin was everyone's friend and even dubbed "the Mayor" for more than a few years due to his ability to talk to anyone - and usually charm them into getting his way. This kid LOVED food. He taught himself how to cook, because in his own words, "I can't live on eggs alone!"
But, the most important truth that you need to know is Austin had a family that loved him beyond measure. A heartbroken family that is left wishing for more days together.
Austin will forever be missed by his mom and dad, of Fort Dodge, sisters, Danielle Brown of Panora and Allison Brown of Fort Dodge, niece Jaycie Maschino of Panora, girlfriend Franchessca Petraline and her sons Kaige and Blayde, all of Des Moines. Also left behind are his grandparents Verdean and Lorna Blumeyer of Sheldon and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Noreen Brown, Darlene Blumeyer, Aunt and Uncle Pam and Ade VanDerLinden, Uncle Kevin Brown, Great Uncle John Blumeyer, his faithful hunting pal Val, and several good friends.
Austin was able to attend his first Iowa Hawkeye football game at the beginning of September with his sisters and Jaycie. He was in awe of the WAVE. He loved kids, and they loved him. Because of this his family requests that all memorials be directed to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.
Our hearts will never be the same without you, Austin, but you struggle no more. We all love you so incredibly much. #KnollcrestGangForLife.
Memorials may be left to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital, Iowa City.

"May your dreams bring you peace in the darkness. May you always rise over the rain. May the light from above always lead you to love. May you stay in the arms of the angels. May you always be brave in the shadows Till the sun shines upon you again Hear this prayer in our hearts And you will ne'er be apart. May you stay in the arms of the angels. May you hear every song in the forest And if ever you lose your own way; Hear her voice like a breeze Whisper soft through the trees May you stay in the arms of the angels. May you grow up to stand as a man, love With the pride of your family and name When you lay down your head For to rest in your cloud like bed May you stay in the arms of the angels"
"I knew the real Austin & I instantly loved him like he was one of mine own (how could I not when he called me "Mama" from day one ?) Every trait you described, was the Austin I knew. He was an amazing soul who always tried to please those he cared about more than he cared about himself. I truly credit him as being my hero by saving my teenage daughter, mentally & physically, from an extremely unhealthy relationship with her abusive boyfriend .... for that I will forever be grateful that Austin was in our lives! I will deeply miss his smile, his hugs, his caring nature for the rest of my days ~ Godspeed & may your soul finally rest peacefully sweet Austin, you will never be forgotten ????????"
"Austin and I enjoyed our best times in the worst of places. He managed to bring joy and a infectious smile with him everywhere he went. My condolences go out to his friends and family."
"Austin...the last time we talked was by my garage at the Becker apartments. It sounded to me like you were headed in the right direction in life. You were taken from this Earth far too soon. God needed a fishing partner so He called you home. May you Rest In Peace...you will be missed by a lot of people."
