Verlie Jean (Boyd) Frambach was born November 13, 1926 in Curlew, IA, the daughter of Lore Hartley and Ruth H. (Lansford) Boyd. She went to school in Curlew school for the elementary years, and she was a graduate of Ayrshire High School.

On November 30, 1946, Verlie was united in marriage to James E. Frambach, Sr. in the St Thomas Catholic Church in Emmetsburg, IA. Jim & Verlie lived on a farm west of Emmetsburg all their married life. They had 6 children: Jim Jr, Thomas, Kathryn, Mary, Richard and Ruth. They farmed and raised cattle & hogs. Verlie was a farmwife and homemaker.

Verlie enjoyed quilting, embroidering, making crafts and baking. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren over the years. In fact, she had made a quilt for each of the kids & grandkids and embroidered many dish towels and quilt blocks. She helped her neighbors make mints and flowers for various weddings, graduations and showers. Jim and Verlie loved going to all the dances in the younger days. Later, their Saturday nights consisted of going to church, going for supper and then playing 500 with the neighbors. If you stopped by the house to see her you would catch her playing solitaire.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, church women's circle leader, 4-H leader for many years, and she was on a bowling league.

On Sunday, September 22, 2019, Verlie passed away at Lakeside Lutheran Home.

Left to cherish her memory are her 6 children: Jim Jr (Jeanette) and Tom (Rhonda) Frambach of Emmetsburg, Kathy (Pat) Kliegl of Jefferson, IA, Mary (Dave) Tonderum of Emmetsburg, Rick & Juanita Frambach from Fort Worth, TX and Ruth (Tim) Twaiten of Emmetsburg and 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Frambach and nephew, John Frambach both of Michigan, a niece, Jane Frambach Young of Colorado and nephews: Gary & Roger Boyd of Arizona and Arnolds Park and Jay Satinsky and Janet Satinsky, nephew and niece.
