Richard Duchatkiewicz
June 27, 1945 - September 26, 2019

Richard M. Duchatkiewicz, age 74, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Riverside, NJ, he lived in Burlington City before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1975, where he lived until settling in Toms River in 2009.
Mr. Duchatkiewicz was employed by the Allenhurst Department of Public Works for over twenty five years until his retirement in 2009. Richard enjoyed bowling, walking, attending car shows, swap meets, was an avid gardener and New York Yankees fan. He lit up every room he walked into with his huge smile. He also affectionately referred to his family and friends as "Bucky".
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah; his children, Christa Gesior and her husband Michael, Richard Duchatkiewicz and his wife Bethany, and Robert Duchatkiewicz, all of Toms River; and four grandchildren, Colin, Michael, Edward, and Micayla.
Cremation was private under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 12th, 2019 at Wall Methodist Church, 2414 Old Mill Road, Spring Lake Heights, NJ 07762; 2:00pm visitation, 3:00pm service.

"My deepest condolences....hello i was with Rich at Manhatten Bagel when this happened revived and medics came and took him to the hospital...i have a medal that i picked up and trying to get a hold of his family and looks like something one of the grandchildren gave him and a couple of other items that were in his pocket....so i can return it and tell them exactly what happened....we always laughed cause his nickname was close to mine.....Go Yankees Rich...you were great morning company,,,""never to forget"""
