Canton-Richard R. Deakin, 80, of Canton, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his home in Canton
He was born on August 17, 1939 in Canton, to Don J. Deakin, and Ruby Mae (Buffum).
He is survived by four children, Karen (Craig) Bouc, of Canton, Michelle Garner, of Canton, Don (Mandi) J. Deakin II, of Canton, and Sarah (Rich) Smolen, of Plainfield Illinois, one sister, Celia (Larry) Beam, thirteen grandchildren, Josh, Kyle (Chelsea), Emily, Curtis, Sara, Colton (Courtney), Sydnee, Justus, Jacob, John, Garrett, Cade, Kalina, and Olivia, and five great grandchildren, Adalynn, Silas, Harper, Charles, and Jade.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda Deakin, one granddaughter, Lexi and one great grandson, Tyson.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Caterpillar as a tool maker for 35 years retiring in 1992. He loved taking care of his family and attending all of their sporting events and activities.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton at 11:30 a.m., visitation will be held the night before, Monday, September 30, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Cuba Cemetery in Cuba.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
