In loving memory of

Carol A. Burton
August 8, 1942 - September 28, 2019

Loving, generous, and always willing to help others are just a few ways to describe Carol Burton. A few events in history that occurred in 1942 included most manufacturing and supplies being set to support the war effort, that led to the first rationing in America, the minimum draft age is lowered from 21 to 18, the invention of the ever famous duct tape, and on August 8, 1942 Leo and Grace (Riffle) Wightman welcomed the birth of their fifth child, Carol A. Wightman in Norwich, New York.

Carol attended Grover Cleveland High School. As a teen she loved Saturday dances and wouldn't miss them for the world. Carol worked in manufacturing for Guardian Glass, Freudenberg, and Union Products. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing handheld solitare, house cleaning, holiday baking, and spending time with her family for get togethers and cookouts. Carol was also devoted to her church and dearly loved her church family and friends. In her free time, Carol enjoyed listening to country and Christian music or watching the Hallmark Channel and local news.

She will always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved and knew her best.
