Alec was born on October 23, 1975, in Rochester, Minn., to Darrell and Ramona (Frost)) Bratvold. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1994 and had a tight group of friends that remained close his entire life. Alec also met Lori Kelly in their high school Latin class, eventually crossing paths again while working at Mayo Clinic in 2003 and were later married August 27, 2005. Alec was a very proud dad to twelve-year-old Spencer and loved his time with him skateboarding, playing hockey and baseball, fishing, building things in the garage, and racing RC cars. Alec was a superb cook, had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished wood turner creating beautiful pieces of art sold in local art galleries.
Alec worked at Mayo Clinic in Media Support Services for more than 20 years. He will be missed by his colleagues and many that he helped with his technological expertise throughout Mayo Clinic.
In addition to Lori, Spencer and his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Eric (Deni) Lake Elmo; Tina (Mark) Loechler, Theilman; and his nieces and nephews. Alec was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Elsie Bratvold and Clarence and Margaret Frost.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bratvold family; to share a special memory or condolence please visit www.ranfranzandvinefh.com

"My sympathy and condolences to all of you. I recall the "early years" when we were all pretty new to IXL and the kids were all so small. You guys were our neighbors and we would visit one another's cabins with the kids. How quickly the time passes and precious each moment was. Words cannot Express the heart warming thoughts and love being sent your way at this difficult time. So sorry for this loss. Love and hugs from Sue, Rory and Lani Bauer."

"Hugs and prayers to you. I have no words. I do hope for the day when you will think of Alec and you will smile or laugh instead of cry. Someday.... a memory: It was always a highlight of summer when the Bratvolds arrived at the farm. Finding the latest batch of kitties was a big deal. "
