"Nick and I dated back in high school. Nick graduated in 1967 and I graduated in 1969 both from SBHS. After graduation, although we went our separate ways, we remained friends and stayed in touch with each other. In fact, we spoke with each other just two weeks ago. Nick, you were a dear friend and I will miss your friendship. May you RIP ???? "
"Pops was a good man. He always had a joke or a story to make me laugh. He had a way with people that was admirable. I will miss him dearly. He was always like another father to me. Rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to everyone he left behind. We are all lucky to have known him like we did and our lives were a bit brighter because of Pops. I loved him and I love you all. Sincerely, Chris D'Orsi"
"Nick, you were my only brothers firstborn. We watched you grow up and become the man you were. Even though we lived across the country from each other because we were family we kept in touch. All five of your Madias aunts will always remember your thoughtfulness towards us and the wonderful connection you had for all of us. We will truly miss you and thank you for being such a wonderful nephew!"
"Pops always made me feel right at home, like one of the family. I will miss the jokes and stories he would tell. He reminded me of my dad: the way he told stories, even when he printed out jokes to 'show' people. I am forever thankful for the relationship we had and memories our family had together.
Sending all my love and prayers,
Rachel D'Orsi"
"Nick, thank you so much for being the amazing father, brother and friend that you have been. It was an honor to know you and to be able to work alongside with you helping out my father in the Bread business. What stands out the most about you to me was that you were Always ready to make somebody laugh. I am somewhat of a comedian myself so I appreciate good humor and you were always locked and loaded with a fresh one. Thank you so much Nick for helping out my dad when when he was down and out with his injury. You?re a great man and I?m proud to have known you God bless you and your family during this time. Now you?re in a better place than us right now Nick love you God bless. Yours truly Jahn-Paul Mazotas "
"All of us at Roberts Restaurant will definitely miss Nick. I always looked forward to the weekly Sunday morning breakfasts with him and his family. His humor was definitely a bright spot in my day and he loved showing me all the different Three Stooges t-shirts that he would be wearing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May God bless them and carry them through this difficult time."
"Our sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved "Nick". I will truly miss your smiling face and of course your jokes! May you rest in peace and sleep with the angels! Love always, Benita and Peggy Griffin "
"What can I say that hasn?t already been said. Nick was a special man that came to my aid when I needed help with my business. His dedication and work ethic was second to none. He help me through a rough patch when I was injured. He and Anthony jumped right on my route and ran it as if I were there. His love of football was almost comical. When the Dolphins loss, his favorite expression was ?They Stink? He used to say that a lot after the Marino era. Nick you were a great friend and work companion that I am unable to express in words how I feel. Like everyone is saying, you and Anthony can once again watch football together. Rest In Peace my friend. "
"Uncle Nick you were always my favorite Uncle, especially as I grew up. You always had a joke and a smile when you saw us and that's one of the things I'll always remember. And I'll still pick up a matchbook for you whenever I visit a new place. Love always. "
"To the Madias family,

"Dad, I still can't believe your gone!! The one memory that stands out in my head is when my mom passed away and you came to me with tears in your eyes and you told me that you wanted me to call you Dad!! You have been more of a father to me in the past 25 years than my own father!! I love you more than words can say. I will miss your funny, crude jokes (that most people didn't get) but I did.. You always went out of your way for others. You made sure I was always ok. And the love you had for your children, and grandchildren and wife will never be forgotten as you will never be forgotten!! I know you are in a better place now with your son Anthony. I love you Dad... "
"Nick, Ol' Buddy, I haven't seen you in over 10 years, but my heart is heavy over you moving on. I remember you, and Paul, and I loading our trucks, early in the morning, getting ready to run our bread and cake routes. I remember us trading jokes back and forth. I remember all the work you did to my house before I put it on the market. You always showed up. Most of all I remember your friendship my dear friend. See ya' again my Brother."
