In loving memory of

Ruth A. Hare
October 24, 1933 - October 9, 2019

Ruth A. Hare died peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at her home in Lansdale. She was 85 years old.

Ruth was born on October 24, 1933 to the late Harry F. and Grace (nee Huston) Loyd. She grew up in Lansdale and was a 1951 graduate of Lansdale High School. Ruth loved playing sports in high school, especially Field Hockey. She also loved playing guitar with the Betty Reichenback String Band.

After graduation, she was employed by Martin Century Farms, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Roland L. Hare. They married on October 24, 1959 and Ruth left to raise a family. After the children were in school, she went back to work in Food Services for the North Penn School District, where she remained for twenty two years until her retirement.

Ruth and Roland loved to go on bus trips; one trip nearly every year for more than twenty years. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Roland L. Hare and her dear son Roland, Jr. "Rusty" in 2013. She was the sister of the late Eleanor (Loyd) Hamrik. She is the devoted mother of David A. Hare and his wife Jimilou of Delray, Florida; Norma Jean Hare Bourdon of LaPort, Indiana; and Kathleen M. Gallagher and her husband Michael of Lansdale, PA. She is the loving grandmother of Andrew and Caitlin Hare, Gabrielle and Justin Pawlak, Kirsten Bourdon, Benjamin Gallagher and Michael Gallagher, Jr. and great grandmother of Kaiden Kirby.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday October 16, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA and to her Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Pastor Dyan Lawlor will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Charles Vesay wrote on Oct 15, 2019:

"Ruthie(as we knew her) and Roland were some of the finest people we ever had for neighbors when we first moved to Lansdale with our four children. We all loved Ruthie and she repaid us with the most wonderful down to earth care, concern, and fun. We remember her children, which she loved, and shared their stories with us as we used to picnic and grill in the yard between our homes when we lived on Mt. Vernon Steet. We know the kitchen in heaven just got a boost. All our love. Chuck and Barbara Vesay, and family."
