Joan Moss
June 17, 1933 - October 19, 2019

Joan Moss, of Wausau, died Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Benedictine Living Community. She was 86 years old. She was born on June 17, 1933, in Antigo, a daughter of John and Barbara (Denessen) Yentz. She married John Moss on June 21, 1952, at St John Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2001.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1951. As a young lady she worked at Fidelity Savings Bank in Antigo.

She was a devoted homemaker and a woman of great faith who took great pride raising her eight children.

She and her husband operated the McMillan Hotel in Antigo for five years. She owned and operated Country Collectables, an antique shop in Aniwa.

Mrs. Moss moved to Wausau in 2001 where she worked in the office at the Grand Theatre.

She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Wausau, their Fatima Council and prayer shawl group, and enjoyed making baby booties to be given to baptized infants of the church.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Moss, Marion, Iowa, Julie (Eugene) Eibes, Tonganoxie, Kansas, Amy (Joe) Brunner, Kellnersville, Linda (James) Lehman, Wausau; four sons, Tony (Nina) Moss, Lawrence, Kansas, Tom (Jane) Moss, Madison, Fred (Carrie) Moss, Waupaca, John (Michelle) Moss, II, Stevens Point; eleven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Atkinson, Betty North, Mary Ellen Genoshe.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Wausau with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
