Albert (Al) E. Thistle
February 9, 1943 - October 18, 2019
Albert E. (Al) Thistle (76), passed away Friday Oct 18, surrounded in love by his family.
Al was born in Boston and lived on Cape Cod before moving with his family to Sarasota thirty years ago. Taking advantage of year round weather here and his passion for fishing and boating which he passed on to his boys. A lifelong sports fan, Al coached Little League baseball for many years in Sarasota, becoming a coach and mentor to many boys who continued their friendships throughout the years.
Al was a devoted son and is preceded in death by his cherished parents Albert and Doris Thistle whom he cared for and spent countless afternoons enjoying bingo with.
Al is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Vicki Lynn, his dear sons, Kevin; Jeffrey (Sarah) of Sarasota, and Brad (Kelsey) of Bradenton. In addition, Al is survived by his siblings; Janice of Hyannis, Ma; Gary (Peggy) of Sarasota; and Betty (Mark) of Vineyard Haven, Ma as well as several nieces and nephews.
Vicki and family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support by all.
A celebration of life is being planned.
