Eugene J. Mirwald, age 74, of Lower Gwynedd, PA died Monday, October 28, 2019, in the Abington -Lansdale Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Cumberland, WI, he was the son of the late Eugene and Phyllis (nee Mancuso) Mirwald. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha "Marty" in 1992.
Eugene served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 until 1970, and then in the Army Reserves until 1976.
He was employed as a Computer Support Manager for the Burroughs Corporation and later Unisys in Blue Bell for 32 years before his retirement in 2008.
Eugene was a Board Member for the Gwyn Ayre Home Association. He enjoyed being on his computer, going to the casino and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his devoted step-daughters Randi Crimmins of Ambler, PA and Marla Cohen and her husband Alan of Allentown, PA; his granddaughters, Danielle Crimmins, Stephanie and Leah Hawk, and Brooke Cohen. He is also survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Karen Noykoff; his sister Joyce Shannahan and her husband, Ed; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home,1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Msgr. James J. Graham, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima in North Wales. Interment will be private.
