Netty Jean (Cooper) Greenwell was born on January 27, 1922 along with her twin sister, Betty Jane (Cooper) Nelson. She passed away on November 1, 2019. She married Sidney V. Greenwell in 1943. While originally from the Muskegon area, they moved to Beulah, Michigan after they retired. She eventually returned to Muskegon after her husband's death on March 20, 1986, living in Jefferson Towers making many friends. She enjoyed decorating clothes and shoes by embellishing them with bows, paint, glitter & embroidery. She gathered many flowers and greens and then dried them to make her special cards. She was a prolific card sender. She enjoyed her many friends in playing dominos, cards and having lunches with them. As time progressed, she spent her last years at DaySpring Assisted Living being care for by a wonderful & loving village of people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and significant other, Henry Lucas. She is survived by her twin sister, Betty Nelson; Betty's daughter, Carol Schleisman, and Betty's grandson, David Schleisman, all of Benzonia. Her daughter, Marcia (James Graves) Austin; granddaughter, Adriana Austin of Florida, her granddaughter, Shauna (James) Bearup of Newaygo; great granddaughter, Sydney Townsend of Grand Rapids; great grandson, Noah Krouse of Fremont. She was very close to her granddaughters and daughter. She will be greatly missed.
