Thomas B. Mills
December 31, 1920 - November 4, 2019

KEOTA-Thomas B. Mills, age 98, of Keota, died Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Washington County Hospital.
Tom was born December 31, 1920, in Bushnell, Illinois, to Tom and Alice (Bayliss) Mills. When Tom was six the family moved to North Dakota until 1930, when they moved to Keota. He graduated from Keota High School then served in the Air Force during World War II. On August 24, 1952, he married Shirley May Duncan at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Tom worked at Farmers Savings Bank for over 50 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed banking, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley of Keota; two children: Debra Mills-Stigers and husband Dan of Washington and Steven Mills and friend Kim Gatliff of Minneapolis, Minnesota; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Michael and Robert Mills; two daughters: Sherri and Angela Mills and two brothers: John (Jack) and James Mills.

Private family and military services will be held and burial will be at a later date at Keota Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Keota QRS or Keota Fire Department. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Tom and his family. Letters of consolation may be made to Tom's widow, Shirley Mills and family and tributes sent to P.O. Box 123, Keota, IA 52248 and she will present them to Keota QRS and Keota Fire Department.
