Elva Miller
August 6, 1930 - November 6, 2019
KALONA - Elva Irene Miller was born August 6, 1930, in rural Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Omar and Laura Miller. She did quilting, sewing, baby sitting and volunteered at the Crowded Closet. Elva was a faithful member of the Fairview Mennonite Church. Elva passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 89 years.
Elva is survived by 4 siblings: Ida Fern Miller, Marvin Miller, Ellis (Marcia) Miller all of Kalona; Miriam (David) Hershberger of Sarasota, Florida; and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law Paul H. Miller, and 2 nephews: Steve Hershberger and Doyle Miller.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Fairview Mennonite Church, in rural Kalona. Pastor Conrad Hertzler and Pastor Perry Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home Building Fund and Fairview Mennonite Church.
