Mildred E. Pieper, 97, of Gladbrook, IA, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Rev. Joseph Hackett will be officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services, at the church. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. A memorial has been established in her name. Mildred was born July 2, 1922, to Edwin and Anna (Busch) Eggers in Marshalltown. She graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1940. Mildred was united in marriage to Loren Pieper on January 9, 1946. He died August 24, 1984. She was a devoted homemaker while her husband engaged in farming. Mildred was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ and the Gladbrook Amvets Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, canning vegetables, word search puzzles, and fishing with her husband. One of her favorite things to do was attending Polka dances.

Mildred will be missed by a son, Larry (Karen) Pieper of Gladbrook; a daughter, Marcia (Jim) Clark of Eldora, IA; three grandchildren: Kristi Carlson, Stephanie (Justin Thorp) Saak, Randy (Danielle) Clark; seven great grandchildren: Elle, Cael, Meghan, Ben, Logan, Izeley, and Hollis; two nieces, several cousins, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren, and one brother, Earl Eggers.
