Robert M. Moore, 89, of Green Mountain, IA, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, IA. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2019, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown, with Rev. Dr. Kim Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. A memorial has been established. Robert was born November 7, 1930, to Robert J. and Anna Delphinia (Martin) Moore in Hardin County, IA. He graduated from Whitten High School in 1950. After high school, Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert was united in marriage to Lois Bessman on April 11, 1954, in Alden, IA. He was employed with Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Marshalltown and retired in 1991. Robert was a member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Marshalltown VFW, Wellsburg American Legion, and was a former Scoutmaster. Robert enjoyed reading western books, bowling, golf, slow pitch softball, hunting, was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, and going to the casino.

Robert is survived by his children: George (Marlene) Moore of Evans, GA, Robert (Sheryl) Moore of Santa Rosa, CA, Susan Moore of Cedar Falls, IA, Sara (Eric) Paar of Marshalltown, Greg (Sandra) Moore of Toledo, IA, Lee (Heather) Moore of Cedar Rapids, IA; fifteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, one brother, and seven sisters.
