David C. Marmion, 69, of Burlington, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus, Rochester, Minnesota.
Born August 28, 1950 in Bonaparte, Iowa he was the son of Marion and Verna Mae (McCarty) Marmion. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
He married Beth Howell on November 28, 1970.
David worked as a pipe fitter for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 36 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife Beth Marmion of Burlington; one daughter Wendy Marmion (Larry Bentler) of Fairfield, Iowa; one granddaughter Ella Bentler of Fairfield, Iowa; three brothers, William "Bill" (Kathy) Marmion of West Burlington, Robert "Bob" (Melodie) Marmion of Wever and Chris (Denise) Marmion of Tennessee; two sisters, Kathy Mennen of West Burlington and Judy (Dan) Weatherwax of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Buddy Mennen.
There will be no formal funeral services. According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established.
