Tonette Brown Garner wrote on Nov 27, 2019:

"I remember the first time I met Linnie at Zion Westside Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Reverend Timothy Culp. Linnie "boldly and beautifully" ministered the song "No man is an island," to the congregation. Although a child myself and only one year older then Linnie I was as many that day, captivated and blessed by her demonstration of love for God. She was a gift to many, including me. I send condolences on behalf of the family of Mrs. Pinky Brown and our prayers are with you as you celebrate a beautiful life. Tonette Brown Garner "

Dave Woodrum wrote on Nov 25, 2019:

"I am so sorry to hear the news about Yalanda. She was truly an amazing friend. She showed so much love for everyone else and never thought of herself first. Every time we spoke, I'd ask how she was doing and she would always change topics to ask about my kids and what was going on in my life. I don't know if I could ever have a better friend. Her faith was obvious and I am confident that she is now with her Savior. I will forever be thankful for knowing her. As for her kids and family, I will keep you in my prayers."

Sherri VanArendonk wrote on Nov 24, 2019:

"Today I thanked God for the gift of Miss Yalanda to my daughter Grace. Grace loved Miss Yalanda but I didn't know how much until her death and I didn't know that Miss Yalanda was an answer to prayer. When Grace was in high school I regularly prayed for other wise women to speak into her life. I found out Friday that she has been doing that all along, up until her death. Grace told me she prayed for them all the time and she had long threads of interaction via texting. I can only imagine that meant Chuckie, LaPrea, Grace and probably multiple other kids. She was a good woman and a godly woman. I know she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Chuckie and LaPrea I am so very sad for your loss. She was a wonderful mother and loved you so very much. God bless you both. Hang on tight to Jesus. "

"To a co-worker from AAA. What a beautiful person she was. I remember her having a pair of shoes on one day and I making a comment about how much I liked them. When she passed my desk that night she took the shoes off and set them on my desk and said here I want you to have these. I still have the shoes, they are beautiful just as she was. Always remembered, never forgotten. Gerri Green Woudstra"
