Kenneth Brown
October 20, 1925 - November 24, 2019

Kenneth Brown, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of the Washington and Brighton area, died Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant. He was born October 20, 1925 in Washington to Clarence Lon and Clara Susan Palm Brown. On August 22, 1946 he married Martha Juanita Baker in Marion.
He was a member of Yarmouth Baptist Church and was employed at General Electric, retiring in 1988. Mr. Brown served in the Navy in Guam during World War II and enjoyed a trip to Washington, D.C. in 2010 with the World War II Honor Tour.
He loved dancing, camping, playing cards, attending church and visiting with friends and relatives.
Survivors include his wife of Mt. Pleasant; four children; Dan (Linda) of North Liberty, Steve of Minneapolis, MN., Terry of Mt. Pleasant and Carol Fairchild of Lewisville, Texas; two daughters-in-law; Connie Glasgow and Mira Dingman; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers; Clarence Jr. (Pauline) of Washington, and Dale (Joyce) of Jackson, MO.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons; David in infancy, Tom and Edwin; brothers, Leland and Doyle; sisters, Josephine Greene, Leila Mullikin and Virginia Paxson.
The funeral service for Kenneth Brown will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at the Yarmouth Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Duffy officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, with military rites by Navy Funeral Honors.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Elliott Chapel, New London, with the family greeting friends from 4 - 6 PM. A memorial has been established for the Yarmouth Baptist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
