February 29, 1956 - November 26, 2019

Mark L. Erickson age 63 of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial gathering will be held for Mark on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Bud and Dee (Alexander) Erickson, Mark was born on February 29, 1956, in Golden Colorado. On November 15, 1996 he was united in marriage to Erin Schrader in Des Moines. Mark was a member of the Izaak Walton League, National Rifle Association and was a 32° Mason. He enjoyed collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia and Coca Cola products, his three dog's woodworking, fishing, shooting. Mark also enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Erin; children, Rachel (Rick) Fors, Bryan (Megan) Erickson, Clint (Jayme) Lind, Cody (Jill) Lind, and Christi Brown; 12 grandchildren, Cyrus, Reese, Elliot, Tesla, Jocelyn, Benni, Eleanor, Colton, Mickayla, Malibu, Isaac and Levi; and siblings, Traci Gordon and Eric Erickson. Preceding Mark in death were his parents.
