John Edward Vaughan
February 11, 1951 - November 25, 2019

John Edward Vaughan, 68, of Burlington, died Monday, November 25, 2019 at his home.
Born February 11, 1951 in Keokuk, Iowa he was the son of James and Doris (Gray) Vaughan. He married Mary Formella, they later divorced. He then married Connie Harris. She died in April of 2007.
John worked in Carpentry/Construction for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, 3D printing, watching movies, listening to music and treasured his time with his children and grandchildren, in addition to his dog, Zeus.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his three children; Melinda (Michael) Costin of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Carrie (Jacob Johnson) Vaughan of Burlington and John (Elizabeth) Vaughan of Burlington; four step-sons; Matt (Dawn) Weir of West Burlington, Bradley Weir of Burlington, Andrew Weir of Watford City, North Dakota and Lucas (Melissa) Weir of Ankeny, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; one brother James Vaughan of Florence, Arizona; one sister Vickie (Randy) Walter of Stronghurst, Illinois and his step-father Dale (Bev) Leffler of Florence, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie and two brothers Alan Leffler and Joseph Leffler.
The memorial visitation for John will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 29th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for Lake Geode Restoration.
