William C. Grace
January 4, 1927 - November 30, 2014

William C. Grace, 87, of Forked River, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley before moving to Forked River in 1977. William was the Associate Regional Commissioner for the Social Security Administration before retiring. He served as commissioner of New York, New Jersey and Puerto Rico during his career. William was a disabled WWII Army Veteran. He was an avid fisherman who was recognized by his boat, The Amazing, and he enjoyed spending the winters as a snowbird in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Predeceased by his parents, William and Georgetta Grace, and two sisters, Regina OConner and Bernice Magura; William is survived by his wife of 39 years, Veronica; a son William C. Grace III of Jackson, NJ; his two daughters, Marybeth Pavao of Boca Raton, FL; Jodie Wendt of Jackson, NJ; and his 3 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Lacey Memorial Home (formerly Growney Funeral Home) 1022 Lacey Road Forked River, NJ 08731. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:30am from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Forked River. Interment will follow in the Brig. Gen. WC Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Given that William was an animal lover and always had an adopted dog by his side, memorial contributions may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo 1 Humane Way Forked River, NJ 08731
