In loving memory of

Leta Jeaneane "Nean" Kite
January 16, 1944 - December 3, 2019

Leta Jeaneane "Nean" Kite, 75, of Keokuk, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Unity Point in Keokuk.

Jeaneane was born January 16, 1944, in Keokuk to George Edward and Lavera Leah (Collier) Sackman. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Kite, Sr. on September 28, 1960 in Keokuk. The couple just celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Jeaneane lived in Keokuk the majority of her life. She worked at Swift & Co, Methode in Carthage, as a Home health care aid, at the Iowa Ammunition plant, and later cleaned homes. Jeaneane is a former member of the Keokuk Jaycees. She enjoyed playing bingo, solitaire and would take on anyone in most card games. She loved to go camping and spend time outdoors. Jeaneane had quite a green thumb when it came to her flowers. She was also quite the jokester. You never knew when Jeaneane was going to play a trick or a joke on someone. It was always good to be on the lookout when Jeaneane was around. One thing out of the many things loved about Jeaneane was that she lived like there was no tomorrow and danced like no one was watching. She thoroughly enjoyed life and made life better for those that were around her. When a family member would leave her home, she would always say, "Kiss my babies for me". Jeaneane once said, "When I die, tell them all that I love them and to watch for pennies from heaven".

Jeaneane is survived by her loving husband, Gerald "Jerry" Kite of Keokuk, six children; Gerald "Butch" Kite, Jr. of Keokuk, Louann (Grossman) Foster (Mark) of Keokuk, Laura (Kite) Egley (Todd) of Keokuk, Renee J. Kite of Keokuk, Larry W. Kite of Keokuk, and Terry E. Kite (Joni) of Keokuk, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins and several great nieces and nephews, three sisters; Joann Printy of Keokuk, Judy Muegge of Round Lake, IL, and Julia Mayes of Keokuk, one brother; George Sackman, Jr. of Keokuk.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

"There are so many fun memories of all of us together to just bring up one. From playing cards at you and Jerry's house when the kids were little,to birthday parties, weddings and new year eve parties there was never a dull moment that's for sure ..... Jeaneane you was a one of a kind and a friend that never stopped making people laugh and if course pissing a few off when you had something to say you'd tell it like it was! Can't say we didn't push our luck sometimes because we did, but it was all in fun. I will always have some of the best memories with you and Jerry and the are. You will always be in my thoughts and my heart. R.I.P. We love you!"
