"Carl and I met online on one of the Fort Ord sites. It seems as if we were there at the same time, different units and didnt know each other than. We talked online some and one day he said "I cant do all this typing"! I dont remember who called who first but we talked on the phone and really struck up a friendship. He had found several sites Fort on Ord that you could go on and actually get down on the ground and just go all over. He called it "follow the little yellow man". He talked me thru it, we figured it out and went all over Fort Ord reliving old memories, talking and following the little yellow man. We had talked about taking a trip out there but at that time he felt like he couldnt leave Reda. Even though we never actually met, Carl was a friend. We talked about Fort Ord, life, his wife, his family, horses, cows, you name it. We had no schedule for visiting but when we did it usually involved an hour or more. I enjoyed every minute. Here was a man that saw himself as a simple man who loved his family, horses, rebuilding old classic cars and his life. I will miss him! Prayers for Jammie and the rest of his family. May he rest in peace and in the glory of the LORD GOD Almighty! bob wylie Oxford, AL"
