Ruth Ann Schaefer, 79, of Mason City, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City. She was born July 13, 1940, to George and Pearl (Kothenbeutel) Schaefer.
Ruth graduated from Chapin High School with the class of 1957. She furthered her education at Hamilton Business College. Ruth worked as a graphic design coordinator at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines and was a member of Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield.
Ruth is survived by her sister Dorothy Schaefer of Mason City; sister-in-law Diana Schaefer of Sheffield; niece Jean (Bill) Gallina of Krum, Texas, and their children Anthony (Rosa) Gallina and Staci Gallina; nephew Gary (Renee) Schaefer of Sheffield, and their children Kayla (Trevor) Nelson and Matthew (Courtney) Schaefer; niece Lori (Mark) Rempe of Ankeny, and their children Karissa, Kelsi, Austen Rempe and Taelor (Adrian) Gibson; along with one great-great nephew Graysen Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Pearl Schaefer, brother Kenneth Schaefer and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield.
