It was certainly very special to me to spend time with him. Our only wish was that we had connected again earlier in our lives. We know he is looking down on us now. North English- Paul Ray Herdlicka was born August 30, 1953 in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Ronald Gene and Shirley Mae (Crawford) Herdlicka. He attended school at Deep River Millersburg. He was a truck driver for many years. Paul was a member of the Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church, near Millersburg. He enjoyed singing and his tractor that he had restored. Paul died on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 66 years.
He is survived by his sons Travis Herdlicka of North Liberty and Nathan (VaLeene) Herdlicka of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren; two sisters Cheryl (Jerry) Webber of Cleburne, TX and Karen (Jeff) Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids; and a special friend Kristy Farrington of Woodland Park, CO. He was preceded by his parents; a brother Tom Herlicka; and a sister Rhonda Temby.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Powell Funeral Home in North English. Pastor Edwin Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Powell Funeral Home in North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
