Doris Dahlke
April 19, 1915 - May 8, 2011

Doris Dahlke, longtime Antigo resident, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Sylvan Crossings in Stevens Point. She was 96 years old. She was born on April 19, 1915 in Lena, a daughter of Jules and Odile (Vandeveld) Bouchonville. She married John Dahlke on February 22, 1941 at White Lake. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1977.

Mrs. Dahlke farmed with her husband east of Antigo until 1954 when they moved to Wyoming. She returned to Antigo in 1963 and worked as a cook and waitress for Happy's Cafe until retirement in 1980. Mrs Dahlke moved to Stevens Point in 2002.

She enjoyed vegetable gardening, sewing, playing cards, walking and listening to big band music.

Survivors include two daughters Judith Barnsdale, Stevens Point, Mary (Steven) Groeschel, Stevens Point; four sons Douglas (Debra) Dahlke, Weston, Jeffery Dahlke, Antigo, Thomas (Jeanne) Dahlke, Antigo, Terry Dahlke, Sheridan, WY; ten Grandchildren Kerrie (Leon) Check, Shantytown, Joseph (Angel) Dahlke, Sheridan, WY, Christopher Barnsdale, Plover, Brook (Mitchell) Akright, Portland, OR, Brian (Nora) Groeschel, Fitchburg, Crystal (Wayne) Debausche, Peoria, IL, Alan Dahlke, Wausau, Danielle Dahlke, Madison, Jacklyn (Paul) Messer, White Lake, Brandon Hegg, Minneapolis, MN; five great grandchildren Katherine and Hayden Debausche, Avery and Emersen Akright; Sabriel Messer.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Dahlke, five sisters and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Michael E. Betley officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation including a 4:15 p.m. wake service will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9-10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
