Vera Mae Hoambrecker, 82, of Keokuk, Iowa, died at 5:55 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at River Hills Nursing Home, Keokuk, Iowa.

Vera was born on January 7, 1929, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Forrest and Mable Alberts Post. She married Don Hoambrecker on June 10, 1967 in Keokuk, Iowa at St. Paul's Church. He survives.

Vera lived most of her life in Keokuk, Iowa. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Southside Boat Club. She enjoyed doing crafts; playing cards and spending time at their cabin along the Mississippi River.

Vera is survived by her husband, Don Hombrecker of Keokuk, Iowa; four daughters, Dru Cook and her husband Jay of Keokuk, Iowa; Diana Hester of Murrieta, California; Denice Samuels and her husband Mike of Keokuk, Iowa; Dawn Marlin and her husband Jeff of Keokuk, Iowa; number one son, Patrick Ricker of Kansas City, Missouri; two step sons, Steve Hoambrecker and his wife Nancy of Junction City, Kansas; Alan Hoambrecker and his wife Janet of Kansas City, Missouri; one step daughter, Penny Williams and her husband Craig of Keokuk, Iowa; twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and one step son Kenneth Hoambrecker.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 1212 Concert Street in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, Iowa.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Concert Street with family meeting friends from 6 to 8.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
