Becky "Grandma Becky" Perin, 57, of Mingo, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. Per her wishes no service will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Becky was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 8, 1962 to Charley and Ruby (Smith) Overton. She started grade school in Johnston until the family moved to Truro, before settling in Murray. She attended Murray High School and graduated with the class of 1981. Following school, Becky went to DMACC where she graduated with her Associates Degree as a Dental Assistant. She began working for Book and Theis Dental office and remained with them until 1992. Becky married Roger Perin in Colfax in 1991. The couple resided in Colfax until 1999 when they moved to the farm in rural Mingo. Her good friend Jim Porter encouraged Becky to get her CDL and once she did hired her to drive the Baxter School Bus. A job she so dearly loved. Grandma Beck helped raise so many kids including nieces, nephews, and a grandson. Her family meant the world to her. She also loved drawing and painting, reading, driving the bus, kids, and animals most especially her dogs Brandy and Woody.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Roger Perin; children Angie (Kraig) Winkle, Shari Boyer, Mike (Dora) Perin, Katie Price, Megan Overton, Cody Overton, and Hannah Overton; 11 grandchildren; siblings Christy (Don) Nofstger, and Trish Overton; step-mother Patricia Overton; sister-in-law Patricia Overton; niece Melissa Overton; Nephew Matthew Nofstger and lifelong best friend DeAnne Boles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Terry Overton
Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Grandma Beck and her family.
