Zona Mae Sodders
April 8, 1934 - December 19, 2019

Zona Mae Sodders, 85, of Nevada and formerly of Zearing, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. A memorial visitation will be held at Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care in Zearing on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Lincoln Township Cemetery on Saturday, January 4 at 3:15 p.m. with Pastor Adam Koester officiating.
Zona was born on April 8, 1934 in Zearing, Iowa to Lester and Eileen (Manning) Cockerham. She grew up in Zearing where she met and married Bill Sodders on November 4, 1950. They raised their kids in Story County. Zona worked as a shipping clerk at Central Iowa Printing in Nevada. She was a member of the Zearing Christian Church, and the Nevada American Legion Auxiliary. Zona loved spending time with her family, gardening, and canning.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children Richard (Kathie) Sodders, Ronald (LuAnne) Sodders, Barbra (Keith) McCaughey, and Beverly Helverson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; brother Kenneth Cockerham; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Zona was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; siblings Nedra Reynolds, Darlene Davis, Arlene Cockerham, and Dennis Cockerham.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Zearing Park and Recreation.
Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Zona and her family.
