Eleanor R. "Ellie" Lyons
February 2, 1930 - December 19, 2019

Eleanor R. Lyons, "Ellie" age 89 of Broad Axe, PA died peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at her home surrounded by loving family.

Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (nee Hinton) Ray. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Joseph Lyons, Sr in 1997.

Eleanor was orphaned at age 6 and placed at the Carson Valley School for Girls where she resided till 18 years of age. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1948. During her time in high school, she was a cheerleader. She was an avid lover of animals, sports, reading, cooking, flowers and plants. She had a witty sense of humor and a very generous heart.

She enjoyed her years at Blooms & Buds Flowers and Gifts. Not only with the people that worked there but also to bring a smile to the customer's faces. Ellie could often be found there helping customers in any way she could.

Ellie is survived by her caring and loving son Jeffrey Lyons and husband Thomas Flynn of Broad Axe, daughter Patricia Lyons of Tolland CT, son John Lyons and his wife of White River Junction VT, daughter Barbara Painter and her husband Vince of Conyers, GA, daughter Susan Libertore and her husband Anthony of Ambler, PA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in law Doris Ray. She is the sister of George Alfred Ray and the late Richard Charles Ray.

Relatives and Friends are invited on Saturday, December 28, 2019, from 09:00-10:30 AM to the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home,1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. An 11:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helena Church. 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
